  1. Dov, I strongly disagree with you on this. I for one say the mayor did nothing wrong. Before Pesach there was a levaya in Boro Park to which a large crowd came. A not frum acquaintance asked me about it. I defended them by saying in our community there is no social media most of the people came on their own they weren’t looking to break laws.” But what can I answer my not frum acquaintance now two weeks after Pesach. Why in the world was this levaya held in the first place? Was there a levaya for the novominsker Rebbe and other gedolim. For good or for bad the mayor knows our community. He knows about the shuls that are open. He knows about weddings that were held before Pesach. I don’t care that there were people in a park. They too like I told my friend didn’t come as a group but as individuals, Perhaps they should have social distanced but, We have to do what’s right and always be cognizant that we do stand out. The mayor was 100% correct for calling us out

  2. Just wondering how the Mayer could call out the “Jewish Community” as a whole, when the funeral last night was done by a small segment of our community, the overwhelming majority of the community is practicing social distancing. I don’t remember a few months ago when the overwhelming majority of the attacks against the Jewish community we’re done by the African-Americans, that the African community was called out for attacking the Jewish community. And I will tell you why that was not done, because the African-American community was not attacking the Jewish community, a few individuals from the African community were committing the crime’s. That’s why the whole community was not called out because the overwhelming majority of the community did not support the assault on the Jewish community. I think the Jewish community should be held to the same standard, and the whole community should not be called out when one segment of the community did something wrong. I think extreme anti-Semitism can stem from such a tweet or comments.

  3. Ah yid, I have no idea where you live. But where I live, compliance is very close to 100%. It feels like libel to me when the ‘Jewish People’ are Collectively being called out in the media by someone in a leadership position. It is unfair to the majority of us who are compliant. At least he could have been specific about the non compliant group . Tho even then it would not be fair to whoever in that specific community is making efforts.
Blaming a collective religious is very wrong.

  4. It seems hard for our Oilom to reshuffle priorities.
Some segments of that Oilom might feel that “Shoimer Pessoim Hashem”, or in other words stupidity will protect you from all harm.
“Toiv shebeRoifim leGehenom” is not always applicable.
Listen to the medical advice: be Machmir on social distancing will keep you safe!

  5. Dear Ah Yid, I have good news for you! You no longer have to answer your non-frum acquaintance ANYTHING! Stop apologizing to self-hating Jews and anti-Semites! Nothing you say or do will make them hate less. Whatever we do they will find reason to hate! America, it’s time to wake up and stop this trampling of constitutional rights. Living conditions in Brooklyn in general, and in Williamsburg in particular, more or less ensure that everyone was infected by now anyway. This is not about saving lives! This is about being drunk on the newfound power this situation has given to leaders all over.

  6. Mr dov stop it. a jew is a jew and the antisemitism is here to stay. mr Dov why has the frum communitees been hit so hard?/ rule breaker? special protections? Nursing home money that has poisened the well? Ask what u can do and Mr Dov stop blaming our fine tall mayor.

  7. Mr. Yid, you obviously didn’t listen to Dov Hikind’s words. His issue is that the Mayor has attacked YOU for breaking the law and that he owes YOU and all law-abiding Jews an apology.

  8. Sorry, but no. When frum Jews act like fools they deserve the telling off that anyone else gets for the same behavior. It’s time we stopped wagging our finger at the mean, bad goyim and took responsibility for our own actions. The Jews who stood shoulder to shoulder at that levaya are responsible for all the deaths that result from their behavior and we need to just call a spade a spade. We all see it in our communities – people who think this is about ‘rules’ and not about playing games with other peoples’ lives… then they cry and say tehillim when another talmid chacham is in the hospitl

  9. To Ah Yid: You are anything but “ah yid”. Shame on you. Shame on anyone who in any way justifies this vile, disgusting and DANGEROUS stream of hate speech from an elected official! This was organized and arranged with the approval of the police. Look at the pictures of the funeral. Where are the “thousands” of people that he claims where there?? There are few people – spread far from each other. For the mayor to ignore the numerous violations in other communities and single out one community is vile and dangerous. He should resign in disgrace. On the SAME day as this funeral, there were hundreds upon hundreds of people shoulder to shoulder watching the air show. For the mayor to insinuate that the jewish community is endangering policemen is beyond reckless. He is basically justifying any past or future harm to the Jewish community. Beyond sickening.

  11. Mayor Bill De Blasio on Twitter Apr 23, 2020:
To the Muslim New Yorkers beginning their celebrations tonight who need halal meals, we have them across our 400+ grab and go meal sites, and are bringing hundreds of thousands more to the 32 sites most frequented by our Muslim communities. Go to http://nyc.gov/getfood for more.

Mayor Bill De Blasio on Twitter Apr 29, 2020:
My message to the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple: the time for warnings has passed. I have instructed the NYPD to proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups. This is about stopping this disease and saving lives. Period.

  12. i agree. Why should you be held to a different standard?? If other groups of a different religion or no religion did the same thing, there would have been many arrests. Why are you not liable? You put police and healthcare workers in danger and that is flat out wrong!
