I.r. take of the costume before donning the commensurate of the Cohen,’s tziyz in the Temple .C.we say re them bmokom sheyaish chilulHashem ain Cholkin kovod l’rav! 2 additional points: this typified the negative aspect of Yiddishkeit: chamorim blee daas/ I’m Ain daas havdala( beIN Tefilin lehavdil , vSanta)Meenayin??!!! Can somebody circulate my response to greater Chabad and the vaunted colive. Thank RYLevin

  2. IS THE GUY JEWISH?
I HAVE WITNESSED THESE CHABAD GUYS PUTTING TEPHILLIN ON NON JEWS AND QUESTIONED THEM.
IS THERE A KIDDUSH HASHEM HERE?
If he is a jew (lower case “J’) then the caption should note he is/or better yet, HE ””WAS”’A JEW AND HIS RED OUTFIT IS A RESULT OF TOLERANCE AND DIVERSITY AND INTERMARRIGE.
    EXPLAIN…TEACH ME THE JOKE

    • Hey, actual Chabadnik here. No, we don’t put Tefilin on with Goyim, why would we do that? And how would you, as a bystander, know whether the person was Jewish or not? Are Yidden only people with white shirts and black hats and jackets? If Santa is Jewish, by all means, help him put on Tefilin.
He’s not in the act of worshipping Avoda Zarah by putting on a funny red hat and a beard. It definitely isn’t a great profession for a nice Yiddishe boychikel, but that doesn’t stop him from being obligated in Tefilin just like you and I.

  3. I dont understand what the problem is. You have a jew who wants to put on tephilin. Who cares what hes wearing. Do the clothing make the man?

  4. In Israel, Israelis don’t really understand what this Santa costume means. On Purim you can even see very fruma Jews dressing their kids with it. They have no idea what it means (also I saw a religious store owner, has a Rav,yashar in business, sells only kosher etc selling the scene from yashka maybe birth; he was totally clueless as to what it was until it was pointed out to him; then he pulled it from the shelf.
It’s also pretty funny that on succos here in Israel they use the tree lights and decorations to decorate their succos. Almost everyone does it, with totally no understanding of its goyish connection.
Here in Israel xmas doesn’t exist, except maybe in a few christen communities. In yerushalayim that season comes and goes with no reminder whatsoever of its existence.
COME TO LIVE IN ERETZ YISROEL and see for yourselves!

  5. I second that Logic. In Israel a santa costume is known as a “gamad” – a dwarf costume… and even if they heard of xmas- they have no clue what it’s all about or what it represents
