Watch: Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky Stresses Importance of Voting in the Israeli Election for Gimmel

This past week, Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva of Philadelphia, spoke to Rav Gershon Edelstein, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Ponovezh. Subsequently, a video of Rav Kamenetsky referencing that conversation was released. In the video, Rav Kamenetsky expressed Rav Edelstein’s strong feeling regarding the importance of voting in this week’s general Israeli election.

The video and conversation were not referring to any other vote or issue, as has mistakenly been alleged by some.

In the video, seen below, Rav Kamenetsky says that it is clear to him after his conversation with Rav Edelstein that if one listens to Rav Gerson and votes in the general Israeli election, he will perform two mitzvos: 1) helping Klal Yisroel and 2) following the instructions of a gadol hador.
