At the Agudah Convention Sunday keynote session this morning, Rav Zev Cohen, rov of Khal Yeshurun of Chicago, related that he asked Rav Chaim Kanievsky about the use of marijuana. Rav Chaim, he related, responded that it is “sam hamovess.”

What is the solution??
As one who’s been in a position of assisting some of our young people experiencing life difficulties, trouble staying in yeshivos etc. my colleagues and myself can attest to the voracity of the statement made. Not that R’ Chaim needs any haskama in any way. I’m coming with years of experience dealing with the havoc that the substance leaves upon people, not even mentioning what it can lead to as it’s known to be the gateway to harder substances.
IMHO the speaker is making it clear to the many unfamiliar yidden, just as I used to be prior to being exposed to it firsthand.
