The question that we should focus on is: Are we safer wearing masks and practicing social isolation, or not? Why should I care that Cuomo and the rest give their blessings to rioters’ doing what they were doing in the way they were doing, if masks and social isolation do protect us? בחסדי השם , I live in Eretz Israel. We took wearing masks and practicing social distancing seriously, not because of the instructions of the Ministry of Health, but because they are in line with the mitzva d’oraisa to protect our lives and that of our neighbors. בחסדי השם , it showed beautiful results. We have been dovening in shuls again (with masks and sitting far apart from one another) for the past two weeks and a half.
I will give you three examples in three parts of the world: (i) I went to the Kossel yesterday night after Shabbos. i saw individuals kissing the Kossel. (ii) People in Kirias Yoel act the way you saw in the video. (iii) The Guardian writes: “Black Americans dying of Covid-19 at three times the rate of white people.” People wonder afterwards why certain groups have a higher incidence of corona infection. As if the virus were a מתנגד or racist.

what harm could wearing a mask do? atleast you ‘cover your bases’ and know either way nobody is harmed by accident.
