  1. It’s over 70 years that Yeshivos have been receiving massive funds from the Medinas Hatzyoinim.
If you compare these Yeshivos with the ones that don’t receive monies from the Tziyoinim you will not find them to be better Yeshivos in learning or Yiras Shomayim.
The Medina never enforced any of their beliefs on the Yeshivos they support.
So maybe it’s time to rethink the Satmarer policy of not taking any money from the Tziyoinim.

    • Where do they get their electric from? Who owns the City buses they take? Where do they get their drinking water from? The tables they use?
      Such nonsense and immature stupidity.

    • “The Medina never enforced any of their beliefs on the Yeshivos they support.” Huh? Only someone who lives in Fantasyland would say that. And these same ones claim “there’s no gezeirus giyus”. Continue dreaming, Moishe.

      • You are a horse with blinders. There is no gezeras giyus. That was over in the 1950’s. Nobody is arguing that the army is not a good place for a Ben Torah. ( although there is absolutely nothing wrong with general national service for a young man).Just shut up and go the the giyus center and get your deferment instead of blocking traffic and RUINING people’s lives

    • They don’t receive massive funds from the state. Come to Israel sometime. You’ll see secular schools and dati leumi schools in nice buildings and charedi schools in trailers. The yeshiva gadolas get $1,000 per year per student. It’s nothing. They bring in 5x that amount from overseas donations.

  2. “It’s over 70 years that Yeshivos have been receiving massive funds from the Medinas Hatzyoinim.”

I don’t believe that is correct.

In the early days, under PM David Green (aka Ben Gurion) and after him, they didn’t get massive funds (if any).

After the Brisker PM Mendel Begin came to power, around thirty years after hakomas hamedina, things changed. But even then, it was not always constant and unvariable.

So perhaps you can say around/over forty years.

But even then, and now, I don’t know if “massive funds” is an accurate description.

  3. “It’s over 70 years that Yeshivos have been receiving massive funds from the Medinas Hatzyoinim.”

“I don’t believe that is correct.”

I went to Yeshiva in E.Y. in the late sixties (Levi Eshkol was PM). My father didn’t pay tuition because
    the Tziyoinim paid for me.
Menachem Begin increased the funds to match the amounts the Universities got.
The Satmarer Rebbe zt”l wrote his Sefer forbidding monies from Tziyoinim way over 60 years ago.
Therefore I believe “over 70 years ago” is correct.

    • It’s one thing to state facts, another to speculate. Especially considering that the Steipler was from the Rov Gedolei Yisroel that permitted fairly taking back tax money for purposes of our mosdos.

“The Medina never enforced any of their beliefs on the Yeshivos they support.” Huh? Only someone who lives in Fantasyland would say that.

PERHAPS YOU WHO DOESN’T LIVE IN FANTASYLAND CAN GIVE US ONE EXAMPLE WHERE THE MEDINA ENFORCED
ONE OF THEIR GZEIROS ON THE YESHIVOS HAKDOSHOS WHO GET MONIES FROM THE TZIYOINIM.

THE ONLY GEZEIRA I AM AWARE OF IS THEY FORCE A BACHUR TO STAY IN YESHIVA AND CAN’T HANG
AROUND TIMES SQUARE ETC. (LIKE AMERICAN BACHURIM WHO ARE NOT INTERESTED TO LEARN)

  5. The brisker Rov and Satmer Rov held not to take the chazon ish and Rav Ahron Kotler held b’dieved you can take but only a certain percent of your budget so that if the Medina attempts to pressure the yeshivos in anyway to change they will be able to give up the money
All gedolim agree (Even Gimel see Rav Piltz’s speech 2weeks ago in the presence of Rav Chaim Kenievsky) that they are making changes in the elementary schools for this reason the Bnei Torah have stopped taking money for elementary schools
