New York City Bill de Blasio, instead of apologizing for his Tweet targeting the Jewish community, called it “tough love” for a community he says he loves and then insisted that he wrote it to protect the community.

He said that he “regrets if anyone saw it as singling out the Jewish community,”…..except that that’s exactly what he did.

“If you saw anger and frustration, you’re right,” said Hizzoner. “I spoke out of real distress. People’s lives were in danger before my eyes and I was not going to tolerate it. So I regret if the way I said it in any way gave people the feeling of being treated the wrong way. That was not my intention. It was said with love, but it was tough love. It was [said out of] anger and frustration.”

  1. De Blasio, the anti-Semite should be behind bars is targeting Jews while providing half-a-million free halal meals for Muslim during their Ramadan
    https://newsthud.com/

De Blasio put his wife in charge of a special corona task force. The same woman who just “lost” $850 million taxpayer’s dollars funds that supposed to go to the NYC mental health.

    • Please check your facts before posting. There are free glatt kosher meals now available in many frum neighborhoods.

There are plenty of things the Mayor does wrong gets wrong etc. let’s stick to those.

P.S. I am not a fan of his.

  2. We should all Davene that this vicious, incompetent anti-Semite be stricken with something that keeps him away from politics, and in extreme discomfort in payback for the evils he did for Jews and all of New York. May no supporter of him ever serve in public office.

    • He’s not the anti Semite. He’s stam a fool. It’s the community that attended the levaya who are the anti-semites! They don’t care about risking the lives of their fellow semites.

    • The mayor did absolutely nothing wrong. He was 1000% correct for calling out the JEWISH community on this. This is not the first time we had a large levaya. There was no reason for it. Harav Pluchok, the Novominsjer rebbe, and many other gedolim passed away in the last few weeks and there were no levayos.

    • Unfortunately, what happened last night was a tremendous chillul Hashem. The whole society is searching for scapegoats and the Yidden are a convenient one. We are always perceived as viewing ourselves as above the law. This creates animosity in ordinary circumstances and all the more so when our actions can be seen as flaunting laws that are meant to protect the public. There are now (literally) thousands of comments across the web focusing on how THE JEWS placed nypd and the broader public (not to mention themselves although the haters are less concerned about that) in danger. Yes, there is an issue with how the mayor overreacted and how he generalized the entire Jewish community as being connected with this type of behavior, but that narrative would have been made regardless. We (and no, I am not a member of that community but Kol Yisrael Areivim) just fed the entire world a video substantiating the accusations-“The jews (or Haredim, or ultra orthodox, etc. depending on the speaker) couldn’t care less about the common law, common sense, their health and the health of others”. Oy lunu shechutunu. To keep the focus on criticizing the mayor is to be dishonest about the real issue with last night. Even more importantly, it just spreads this story further, giving all news outlets a chance to show the video. Take a look at the hundreds of comments on the sites that have posted stories CRITICIZING the mayor and see how 95% focus on bashing Yidden and Yiddishkeit for not caring about human life etc. Yes haters are going to hate regardless but we tragically supplied them with the perfect ammunition. (Now is not the time to start divisive blaming THAT COMMUNITY as opposed to mine as this is also not helpful and breeds sinas chinam. So please don’t reply with comments blaming others etc.) EVERYONE needs to focus on teshuva shleima and living lives of Kiddush Hashem. Bsuros Tovos!

  3. His only mistake was saying the Jewish community. He should have singled out the Satmar Williamsburg community. The sign of a chacham is to be modeh al ha’emes. They were wrong, period.

  4. I guess when black folks are beaten or killed by the NYPD, that’s also called tough love. After all, they commit the most heinous crimes. Did Wilhelm discuss this with Dante?

  5. I we will all remember to use tough love when comrade stalin, um sorry, de blazio or his wife will be coming for our votes soon for whatever office this bigshot thinks that he is worthy of

  6. Tough Love???? how about the pressing need to change the headlines after Gov. Cuomo ripped him apart in public for allowing the subways to become rolling homeless shelters

  7. With his closest family being African American, doesn’t he love the Black community just as much? Why didn’t he show them at least the same “tough love” when they congregated and had a mass party in Crown Heights last week?

  8. The close proximity of the aveilim was a sakana gedola and all litvishe and non politicized chasiddeshe would have been very unhappy with this dangerous bizayon hameis by violating chamira sakanta meyisura

  9. Is this like the media going all over trump by misinterpreting his words that we should drink bleach etc?

Was Blasio’s Lchatchila intention to specifically pick on the jews? Or was that the situation in front of his nose and he jumped on it?

  10. Sorry, but no. When frum Jews act like fools they deserve the telling off that anyone else gets for the same behavior. It’s time we stopped wagging our finger at the mean, bad goyim and took responsibility for our own actions. The Jews who stood shoulder to shoulder at that levaya are responsible for all the deaths that result from their behavior and we need to just call a spade a spade. We all see it in our communities – people who think this is about ‘rules’ and not about playing games with other peoples’ lives… then they cry and say tehillim when another talmid chacham is in the hospitl

  11. Frum Jews do NOT have the right to violate the law, especially when it exists for everyone’s protection. The US is a secular country and there is NO authority higher than the government. That’s democracy. Violators should be prepared to obey the law or accept the consequences, which in this case are spreading disease within and beyond the Frum community. I’m ‘just’ a secular Jew but I cannot believe that the Torah condones acts that spread disease to innocents, whether Jewish or goy. Violators endanger the sacred human rights of others, which cannot be tolerated in any civilized society.
Meanwhile the Mayor was wrong to single out the ‘Jewish’ community, which shames a broader AND COMPLIANT, part of American society. He should have specifically called out your community. At the same time, he was tragically wrong to allow (and not even comment on) tHe health risks caused by people congregating to watch the air show. He should have condemned this in the strongest terms and taken action to disperse people.

  12. SS-Oberführer Wilhelm
is a Nazi in good standing.
Being a good Nazi it’s in his DNA to round up Jews.

His last name is Wilhelm, full name Warren Wilhelm. He hated his father who was a bigger scumbag than him and his mother’s maiden name was deBlasio which he goes by. His father was German, his mother Italian so he has some Hitler and Mussolini in him and rules like a fascist dictator.

  13. why did he have to say it on twitter? how many members of that shul use twitter? this was done on purpose on twitter. he maybe should have addressed it through official channels like a briefing to the press or something not on twitter so it becomes antisemite bait. he also called out the jewish community. why not be specific. was the whole Jewish community at the funeral?
