Guri Alfi, the actor and son of media figure Yossi Alfi, opened up to Yediot Achronot about the challenges he has faced since the October 7th tragedy and the transformations he has undergone in the aftermath.

In a notable shift, Alfi has chosen not to feature politicians on his evening show, expressing a desire to construct something meaningful. He distances himself from social media platforms, stating, “I’m not on Twitter or anything like that. I want to build something, and I think we have a chance here. Call it a disenchantment, a defilement, whatever you want. If you want to fix things, say what needs to be fixed and act to make the state a better place. If you keep voting like idiots about what you think is the problem, and think that it will be solved by voting for or against one person, you’re wrong. It’s an illusion. There’s no practical application to that discussion.”

When questioned about his faith, Alfi asserted, “I am not afraid of faith.” Despite not intending to embrace religious practices, he mentioned his engagement with Gemara, saying that he “wants to attend shul and don tefillin.” For him, these aspects are “an integral part of his identity,” and he “remains emotionally connected to his Judaism.”
