A potentially major winter storm could hit the Tri-State this week, bringing as much as a foot of snow and possible blizzard conditions to parts of the area, 1010 WINS reports.

Tuesday will be brisk, cold and partly sunny before the larger winter storm moves in Wednesday afternoon. Wind and snow, some of it heavy at times, is forecast to continue through the evening into Wednesday night, according to AccuWeather.
Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are possible in much of the area. Totals could exceed a foot of snow in the northern and western suburbs. 1010 WINS
