Wedding Tragedy: One Dead After Israeli Couple Gets Into Zip-Line Accident On Honduran Island

A newly married Israeli man was killed and his wife seriously injured in a zip-lining accident in Honduras, Israeli officials said.

The couple were on a zip-line over a treetop canopy near Roatan on the island of Bahia during their honeymoon when they crashed into each other, according to local media.

The man, 29, was killed and the woman was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

The Israeli embassy in Guatemala made arrangements for the body of the man to be flown back to Israel for burial. The woman has been transferred to Florida for medical treatment.

  1. I’ve never even attempted one of those things despite all the hoopla over them. What if the ropes snap? You can plunge 100’s of feet to an instant death. I just don’t get it.

  2. It’s so sad. I’ve been zip lining before however this story is a failure of the ones operating the booth. The rope didn’t snap. It was human error.

    These ropes are sophisticated and can hold lots more than the weight of a single human.
