Rav Tzvi Drebkin, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Grodno in Be’er Yaakov and a member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of Degel HaTorah, has contracted the coronavirus.
Rav Drebkin tested positive yesterday.
Matzav.com has been told that he was not infected by his talmidim at his yeshiva, but by his daughter who came to visit him in recent days and was found to be positive for Covid afterwards.
The other rosh yeshiva of the Grodno Yeshiva, Rav Yitzchok Hacker, was hospitalized last week at Maayanei Hayeshuah Hospital in Bnei Brak for pneumonia and he remains in an induced coma. Rav Hacker is the rosh yeshiva of Grodno, a son-in-law of Rav Shmuel Rozovsky, and a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Degel HaTorah.
Rav Gershon Edelstein has called Maayanei Hayeshua and asked the staff there to take particularly careful care of Rav Hacker.
All are asked to daven for Rav Tzvi ben Chana Baila and Rav Yitzchok ben Nechama.
