The White House press team is bringing on Brian Morgenstern to serve as deputy communications director and deputy press secretary.
Morgenstern was previously the deputy assistant secretary for external affairs at the Department of the Treasury, where he served as a senior aide and chief speechwriter to Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and also worked as a liaison to the media and business communities.
While at Treasury, Morgenstern worked on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and most recently coordinated messaging and worked with business leaders to implement the Cares Act, the multi-trillion dollar rescue package signed by President Donald Trump at the end of March.
