An Israeli security delegation due to visit Washington on Monday will not change the Biden administration’s position on rejoining the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said at a press briefing on Friday.
The team of senior officials led by Mossad Director Yossi Cohen and National Security Advisor Meir Ben-Shabbat plan to express their objections to the White House, which is currently emerged in indirect negotiations with Tehran in Vienna.
Jerusalem insists that the Iran deal, which the US abandoned in 2018 under former President Donald Trump, is “dangerous for Israel and the region” and has panned the deal as a feckless gesture that merely prolongs Iran’s march to nuclear armament.
Psaki acknowledged in her remarks Friday that the White House “knew they would be challenging, we’re encouraged that there are still conversations between all parties and that they’re still happening.”

The i24 news report quotes Psaki as saying, “”As far as Israel is concerned, we have kept them informed, as a key partner in these discussions, of our intentions and we will continue to do so on their next visit.” Sadly, that was not the case when Obama and Biden negotiated the deal with Iran, as Israel was kept in the dark about most of the discussions with Iran. So there is no reason to believe the Biden administration now, except for the fact that now may be different because the nuclear deal is already an old and done deal, hence Israel has less of an ability to prevent the deal from being reinstated, hence Biden has less to lose by keeping Israel informed of the discussions. On the flip side, if Biden gives Iran something they weren’t previously given, he might want to hide that from the Israelis, and perhaps he might want to hide it from everyone else too, until the deal is signed and delivered. But let’s not forget that Biden is the guy who suggested shortly after the 9/11 attacks that the US should give Iran a $200 million, no-strings attached check. That was his remedy for the 9/11 attacks. So, we’re not exactly dealing with normalcy here.
Iran has no nuclear weapons and will not go back to it, thanks to President Trump. The media install Biden has no military and was still denied entry to the Pentagon. Whoever believes that this guy is president should immediately get the covid shot.
