Hours before President Donald Trump was set to sit down with Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt went on Fox News Monday to discuss Washington’s latest strategy to bring an end to the Gaza war.
Leavitt emphasized the president’s negotiating skills, saying, “nobody knows better than President Trump to reach a good and reasonable deal for both sides.”
She explained that Trump has spoken with Arab leaders “to hear them out and understand their concerns.” Leavitt also pointed out that the administration has maintained a line of dialogue with Hamas, both directly and indirectly, while simultaneously coordinating closely with “our friend and ally” Prime Minister Netanyahu.
According to her, compromise is inevitable: “Both sides have to give up a little bit and might leave the table a little bit unhappy. That’s ultimately how we are going to end this conflict.”
Leavitt underscored that peace must come through diplomacy, insisting the war “must end at the negotiating table. The President has made it very clear he wants to see the killing end, he wants to see the hostages released, and that’s why Special Envoy Witkoff drafted this very detailed and comprehensive 21-point plan and has proposed it to both sides.”
She finished her remarks by expressing optimism, saying, “we hope sides agree. That’s the expectation.”
Meanwhile, a Trump administration adviser involved in the ceasefire initiative told Axios on Monday that if Netanyahu rejects the proposed framework, the responsibility will fall squarely on him. The adviser warned the Israeli leader would be blamed for prolonging the fighting, “enabling Hamas and doing nothing for the Palestinians who have so many humanitarian needs. People will continue to starve. Let’s hope we get there.”
The adviser added that Arab nations were already fully supportive of the deal: “The Arabs have agreed to it like 100%. Now we’re waiting for the president to work his magic on Netanyahu.”

Hamas will not accept it. Should they even make believe that they accept it, don’t expect them to carry out their side. Bibi may be an idiot when dealing with the world, but he isn’t so foolish as to think that Hamas will carry out their side of the deal, thus leaving Israel looking good.
Not a very bright thing to say. She’s a young kid. Hopefully she’ll improve with time.
