World Health Organization (WHO) officials on Tuesday said the death rate from the novel coronavirus is higher than previously thought.

“Globally, about 3.4 percent of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1 percent of those infected,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a press briefing.

However, officials have struggled to find an accurate count of the death rate because many people with mild cases don’t show symptoms and may not seek treatment.

Tedros said containment of the virus is still possible worldwide, even though there are nearly 91,000 reported cases and more than 3,100 deaths.

  1. “Globally, about 3.4 percent of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1 percent of those infected.” As we said, COVID-19 cases = pneumonia! Indeed, all patients with pneumonia are automatically on their list.

  2. Are we supposed to believe this “epidemic” hoax from an organization who planted it 3 months in advance?

  3. Imagine if people were just as concerned and panicked about the “lashon hara virus” as they are about the coronavirus!
Imagine if people would not go to places that are usually filled with people who speak lashon hara.
Imagine if people would walk away quickly from those who are in the middle of speaking lashon hara.
Imagine if people would mask their mouths and not spew lashon hara or receive lashon hara.
Imagine if people would think ahead of the game and make all kinds of precautions to avoid being in the presence of lashon hara.
Imagine if people who habitually say lashon hara would be quarantined from those who do not like to hear lashon hara.

Lashon hara is more deadly – more contagious – more easily spread – more widely spread – than coronavirus!

Perhaps guarding ourselves and our loved ones from speaking, hearing and accepting lashon hara is a good antidote to the coronavirus – and the best segulah to stay healthy and safe!
