Noticing Rav Chaim Kanievsky shed tears while learning a sugyah of Menachos (18a), his family examined the daf and found that it included an incident where Rebbi delightedly exclaimed, after discovering that someone else recalled a statement of Rabbi Yehuda as he did, “You have restored my lost property to me.”
The Gemara concludes that Rabbi Elazar ben Shamua wept when he saw the incident, saying, “Happy are talmidei chachomim who love divrei Torah so much.”
