wikileaks-assangeJulian Assange doesn’t want to write a book, but he feels as though he has to. The Australian reports that he needs the money to finance his defense against assault charges as well as to keep WikiLeaks running.

“I don’t want to write this book, but I have to,” he said. “I have already spent around [$307,408] for legal costs and I need to defend myself and to keep WikiLeaks afloat.”

The WikiLeaks founder has money coming in from his U.S. and British publishers, Alfred A. Knopf and Canongate. With that and sales in international markets and serialization, he is expected to make at least $1.5 million in total as reported by the Daily Beast.
