A Maine couple have proved that age is not limiting when it comes to marriage. Eighty-eight-year-old Paul Walker married 87-year-old Ann Thayer at a Lewiston rehabilitation center Tuesday in front of a small group of family and friends.
The couple had dated for 17 years. They decided to tie the knot after some gentle teasing from the staff at a hospital last week. Thayer visits Walker every day at the Marshwood Center, where he is rehabilitating. She says she has had some “beautiful years” with him.
Both have been married before.
Center administrator Sheri Nadell tells the Sun Journal newspaper it was the facility’s first wedding.
