The world’s biggest Covid-19 vaccine study got underway Monday with the first of 30,000 planned volunteers helping to test shots created by the U.S. government — one of several candidates in the final stretch of the global vaccine race.
There’s still no guarantee that the experimental vaccine, developed by the National Institutes of Health and Moderna, will really protect.
The needed proof: Volunteers won’t know if they’re getting the real shot or a dummy version. After two doses, scientists will closely track which group experiences more infections as they go about their daily routines, especially in areas where the virus still is spreading unchecked.

Those groups who are more likely to suffer from the virus are not being tested in the clinical trials. They are only testing healthy people with no medical issues, from ages 18 and up.
That means anyone who has heart issues, respiratory issues, asthma, diabetes – and those who are overweight, or smokers, pregnant or nursing – are excluded from the trials. Thus, side effects from the vaccine in these groups are not being studied.
These vaccines use a new technology – mRNA – that has never been approved for use in humans for an infectious disease. Does it make sense to fast-track a new technology vaccine?
You have been stating for weeks that people with preexisting conditions and the elders are disposable, now you want to question the vaccine being tested on young and healthy people only? Why should the vaccine be tested on vulnerable people? If it proves good with strong and healthy people, then I will consider taking. In the meantime, Trump promised a vaccine by October: let Trump’s supporters try it out. I will wait to see if Trump’s promises materialize. I seem to recall he had said covid-19 would be gone by May.

Unfortunately animal modeling is not feasible, there have been a few reported cases testing positive e.g. cats, but they don’t get a full-fledged disease.

It is an advertisement for Trump supporters to get vaccinated so that the economy can restart, schools reopened, people back to work in presence, cafes and restaurants full etc. and the President can be reelected. Whether they are “idiots”, I don’t think it’s my place to say. Time will tell.
President Trump certainly means well; the story though, is that — like all of us — he just wants to have a country again!! Especially as he is in the role of a king of it, he is especially obligated to make sure that it will be a country again. The problem though, is that the people around him who are advising him about what to do — (more correctly) the people around him who are DICTATING* him about what to do — have made it VERY glaringly clear to him that the absolutely ONLY way that there can be a country again will be through the Covid vaccine.

To: Only healthy, Anonymous and nyj: the order of testing is first lab rats, then more human like animals, then healthy humans, and only when they see there are little or reasonable risks, do they test on more vulnerable populations. Understandably, to monkey around with a person’s DNA, to try to “manufacture” genetically modified human beings, is something that — at best — is an exceedingly high risk and severely dangerous.
Yet, its development is being super-express-fast-tracked, OMITTING several of the most crucial phases of the testing that is required for the development of any new medication.
In the last test that was done on it with a number of people, upon receiving the first dose, half of the recipients experienced significant bad reactions. Upon getting a second dose, ALL of those recipients had further bad reactions.
