tisha-bav-cchfWe are all waiting desperately for the geulah. On an individual and communal level, the challenges of parnassah, shidduchim, illness and more have left no one untouched. The magnitude of the recent horrific tragedy has shaken us all to the core. We want the geulah. We need the geulah. What can we do to bring it closer?

Every year, on Tisha B’Av, the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation’s worldwide event seeks to answer this question with an informative, inspiring presentation by renowned speakers. The Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation’s Worldwide Tisha B’Av Event has brought together Jews in 700 sites in 16 countries. Together, as we mourn the loss of our Bais Hamikdosh and the bitter, long golus that we are still suffering through, people listen and are inspired to act and do their part in bringing achdus and geulah to Klal Yisroel.

Each year, the video focuses on new perspectives and practical actions that each person can take to increase shalom in their own lives and in the world. The presentations speak to the heart, moving people to make changes in themselves that bring zechus and bracha into their lives.

This year’s video, titled “Mending Relationships: Rebuilding Our World,” focuses on the imperative of pursuing shalom in personal and communal life. The damage set in motion by machlokes is well-known and is in fact a key factor in the continuation of golus. This year’s speakers will paint a picture of the beautiful life each person can attain by cultivating shalom.

“Everyone is always looking for segulos and brachos,” said a CCHF spokesman. “But Chazal tell us, ‘There is no vessel for bracha except shalom.’ It brings yeshuos to our personal lives and it is what will bring the yeshuah to Klal Yisroel.”

The event’s speakers focus not only on the spiritual aspects of shalom, but on the practical, doable nature of the concept.

One version, “Program A,” includes an inspiring message from Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman, who constantly speaks about the pervasive issue of machlokes and the zechus of working to heal rifts and improve Klal Yisroel‘s grasp of the mitzvos bein adam lachaveiro.

Audiences will also hear a brand new, powerful presentation from Rav Yissocher Frand, well-known for his speeches that leave listeners inspired to act on their new understanding.

Program A also includes a stirring special message from Rav Gamliel Rabinowitz, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Shaar Hashomayim in Yerushalayim, who is known for his expertise in halacha and Kabbolah. In addition, Rav Yaakov Hillel, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivat Ahavat Shalom in Yerushalayim, will provide a unique and thought-provoking perspective on the impact of machlokes.

Program B features Rav Yitzchak Berkovits, Rav Eli Mansour and Dr. David J. Lieberman.

Both versions of this year’s presentation are aimed at awakening each person to the boundless benefits of pursuing shalom. By heeding these uplifting words, each person can gain effective, practical tools to heal the rifts, repair the damage to our world and enable Hashem’s creation to operate at full capacity, bringing bracha, health, prosperity and happiness into our lives.

Mending Relationships: Rebuilding Our World” will be shown on Tisha B’Av, Tuesday, August 9, in 700 sites worldwide. See the listings ad in this edition of the Yated for times and locations in your community.

  1. Looking foward to rabbi frands speech … every time I hear him he leaves me so inspired . He is a true master of what he does.

  2. Was just wondering why there’s no focus this year on the recent murderers of the huge Tsadik Hamikubal Harav Abuchatsira Zatsal (who was a massive masmid, and Oihev Yisroel too) and Hayeled hatumim vihatuhoir Leiby Kletsky a.h.? Reb Shteinman Shlita together with Harav Kaneiefsky, Harav Shmuel Oirbach, and Harav Nisim Karelitz Shlita, all said that by having achdus amongst Klal Yisroel we could fix the huge chilul hashems caused! So why doesn’t the Chufitz Chaim Heritage Foundation focus on Tishu biuv on the height of these most recent tragedies, all related to sinas chinam unprecedented ever before in our 2000 years of our Gulos history?

  3. Simcha,

It is obvious that you are unaware of the amazing work of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation.

The programs that are chosen for each year’s annual Tisha B’Av event are planned well in advance and have an eternal message for all of Klal Yisroel.

If we could live up to the mitvos in the Torah there would be no need for these programs. Unfortunately, we have not reached that level.

Let each of us work on ourselves and stop looking to criticize others; especially the work of the exceptional organizations like the CCHF.

May we look in the mirror and see what it is we can do to eliminate sinas chinam, loshon harrah and bring the Geula shulaima to Klal Yisroel.
