The world’s oldest man — who spent his days soaking in Japan’s hot springs and watching sumo wrestling — died early Sunday. He was 113.
Masazo Nonaka died peacefully in his sleep at home in Ashoro, his family said. The supercentenarian was certified by Guiness World Records in April 2018 as the world’s oldest living man at 112 years and 259 days.
The world’s oldest living person is also Japanese — Kane Tanaka, a 116-year-old woman from Fukuoka.
