A stormy confrontation broke out in the first session held by the new Jerusalem Municipality, in which the positions of the council members were presented for approval.

The confrontation began because of one group, who supported the second place Ofer Berkovich, began shouting in the council hall the names of chardei politicians who, according to them, “control” Yerushalayim, including Deri and Rauchberger.

During the meeting, Mayor Moshe Leon quickly approved the appointments of the members of the Council to the positions of the deputies and the receipt of the various files.

“I understand that it is difficult for you to make decisions, and I hope you will join in the end, but I will not let you continue with the incitement,” Leon said to the protesters.
