A plan to construct a cable car from Yerushalayim’s old railway station at the German Colony neighborhood to the Old City got final approval from the National Infrastructure Committee and is awaiting a government go ahead. It is expected to begin operations in 2021.
By transporting 3,000 passengers in both directions per hour, it will provide traffic-free access to the 135,000 visiting the Old City every week. Getting to and from the Kosel will be easier than ever before.
