The elections for Chief Rabbi of Yerushalayim will not take place on 21 Adar as a number of sources originally reported, thought the date of the elections has not yet been determined. The election committee chairman R’ Ben Shimon is under much pressure to finalize the election date sooner than later, but various factors, including the upcoming elections for chief rabbi of Ashdod, have resulted in the delay.
A tentative date for the Yerushalayim vote is 8 Nissan, days after the Ashdod elections, but that date could always change.
