Yerushalayim Mayor Pleads With Bibi To Allow Machane Yehuda Shuk To Reopen

Yerushalayim Mayor Moshe Lion sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Health Minister Yaakov Litzman Sunday, urging both to reopen the Machane Yehuda Shuk.

“As I’ve said in the past, and now as well, the Yerushalayim Municipality is ready to take full responsibility for Mahane Yehuda Shuk and station municipal supervisors who will enforce the rules,” Lion wrote.

“There is no reason not to allow the opening of the markets in contrast to the supermarkets, there is no reason to lead the market and its merchants to economic collapse. Allow the market to open,” the mayor concluded.

  1. the open Shuk maybe the closed shuk NO WAY
    the open shuk is more then 8 meters across
    and the closed shuk is about 2 meters and would violate every idea of social distancing

  2. EVERY aisle in EVERY makolet, market and supermarket
    violates the rule of ” social distancing ” at 2 meters. Amounts of customers allowed in the shuk could be policed just as they are in other stores.
