A 23-year-old bochur was shot with a BB gun in a drive-by shooting in Crown Heights tonight.

The shooting took place at about 10:40 p.m. on Montgomery Street, near Albany Avenue. Shots were fired from a passing SUV, striking the victim as he was walking down the street, hitting him in the head and the leg.

He was taken to the hospital by Hatzolah.

Police said that no words were exchanged between the shooter and the victim.

A search is on for the perpetrator and the vehicle.

There will be extra police coverage in Crown Heights tonight following this disturbing incident. An anti-Semitic motive may be at play here as police investigate.

      • In no universe is paintball- a sport played while wearing masks and other protective gear, with larger projectiles traveling slower- more dangerous than getting shot while unprotected with a metal BB, which goes faster than a paintball and can do a lot more damage. People use BB guns to kill squirrels and raccoons, there’s a reason they don’t use paintball guns for that.

      • If your wearing the correct protective clothing it’s as dangerous as walking the streets when bicyclists, scooters, and cell phone occupied pedestrians are there too.
