rmiller3Yeshiva Gedolah Bais Yisroel’s 26th Annual Dinner. Will be held tonight at the Sephardic Lebanese Congregation at 805 Avenue T in Flatbush and will be dedicated to the memory of Rebbetzin Chana Etel Miller a”h, the loyal aishes chaver of Harav Avigdor Miller zt”l. An inspiration to her family and Klal Yisroel in transmitting the rov‘s legacy to the next generation, Rebbetzin Miller was a living  link to the illustrious Torah world of pre-war Europe and served her husband in the vital mission of spreading ‘Toras Slabodka‘ to the thirsting Jews born and raised in America.

Yeshiva Gedolah Bais Yisroel was established by Harav Avigdor Miller zt”l, who until his petirah in 2001 served as the menahel ruchni. The yeshiva is now led by his illustrious son, Harav Shmuel Miller shlita, a talmid muvhak of Harav Aharon Kotler zt”l, and attracts ever-growing numbers of talmidim from around the globe.

Under the guidance of the yeshiva‘s devoted hanhala and teaching staff, the talmidim are reaching higher levels of accomplishment in the study of Torah at both the bais medrash in Bayswater and the mesivta in Flatbush. The Flatbush mesivta, directed by Harav Ari Mintz, the menahel, is utilizing a vibrant team approach towards enhancing the chinuch of the students.

The yeshiva‘s Guests of Honor at the upcoming dinner will be Mr. and Mrs. Isaac H. Franco. Mr. Franco is a scion of one of the leading families of Deal, N.J., and is a loyal supporter of the yeshiva. Through the inspirational books and lectures of Rav Avigdor Miller, Mr. Franco is a loyal student of the rov. Since first reading the rov’s sefer, “Rejoice, O Youth,” Mr. Franco said that Rav Miller “opened my eyes and taught me to appreciate Hashem, the Torah and the beauty of the world that Hashem created.” With his loyal wife Belline, the Francos are raising five children in the derech haTorah.

The Kesser Torah Award is being bestowed opon Rabbi Chaim Krinsky. Rabbi Krinsky grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and attended Rabbi Jacob Joseph Yeshiva before learning in the Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland and Yeshiva Ner Yisroel in Baltimore. Rabbi Krinsky returned to the Lower East Side to learn under Rav Moshe Feinstein zt”l at Mesivta Tiferes Yerushalayim. Rabbi Krinsky often davens at the Bayswater branch of Yeshiva Gedolah Bais Yisroel, where he is  frequently asked by the rosh yeshiva, Rav Shmuel Miller, to deliver divrei hisorerus to the talmidim. Rabbi Krinsky accepted to be honored at the upcoming dinner because, he said, “I am inspired by the tremendous hislahavus of the bochurim and their eagerness to shteig continuously.”
