In recent days, Yeshivat Har Etzion’s website was infiltrated in what appears to be a cyberattack attributed to Iranian hackers, reportedly part of a wider digital offensive.
The hackers defaced the homepage with an English message that read, “You start the war, but we will end it!” This warning was also embedded in multiple areas of the site—ranging from course thumbnails to lecture pages and even the search bar—pointing to a comprehensive compromise of the platform’s backend.
Despite the gravity of the breach, the yeshiva responded with levity and confidence. In a public statement, they said: “We’re pleased to see the Torah of the yeshiva continues to break (and be broken into) new boundaries. Welcome to our new followers from Iran who left their mark. You’re invited to join as well.”
Within several hours, the technical team had resolved the issue, fully restoring the website’s functionality and ensuring it resumed normal operations.
