bmg-smallMatzav.com has learned that Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ, is currently faced with a serious seat shortage for its mispallelim for the Yomim Noraim. Initially, some 350 people were without seats, but organizers have worked feverishly and the number is now down to about 150 people or so who would like to daven in the yeshiva for the upcoming Yom Tov of Rosh Hashanah but do not have seats. The yeshiva has a number of minyanim for the Yomim Noraim, including in its Israel Henry Beren Hall Bais Medrash, its Adolf and Ethyl Beren Bais Medrash, its Bais Shalom Bais Medrash, as well as a vosikin minyan. The largest minyan is in the Israel Henry Beren Hall Bais Medrash where over 1,100 people gather.

Those mispallelim who have assigned seats but will not be davening in the yeshiva on Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur for whatever reason have been asked to call 732-367-1060 ext. 285 or 286, so that the seat can be given to someone else temporarily. Those who return next year will get their seat back again.

The yeshiva‘s staff has been working from morning to night setting up the yeshiva for the Yom Tov davening, checking all the air conditioning systems, ensuring that there are sufficient chairs and shtenders for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, assigning and charting thousands of seats in several botei medrash, and more. The yeshiva‘s sukkah, where the annual Rosh Hashanah Kiddush is held, has been constructed this week outside the Israel Henry Beren Hall.
