Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky boldly stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin “will die soon,” referencing the growing speculation surrounding Putin’s declining health. Zelensky also cautioned the United States against aiding Russia in escaping its current political and economic isolation.
“He [Putin] will die soon, and that’s a fact, and it will come to an end,” Zelensky declared during an interview with Eurovision News on Wednesday.
This stark comment from Zelensky follows ongoing rumors about Putin’s deteriorating health, which have circulated for years, including claims of strokes, cancer, and even Parkinson’s disease.
In making this prediction, Zelensky also appealed to the US to “stay strong” and avoid yielding to the Kremlin’s requests during the current peace and cease-fire negotiations.
“It is very important that America does not help Putin to get out of this global isolation now,” Zelensky urged.
“I believe that this is dangerous. This is one of the most dangerous moments.”
He further emphasized that Putin, who he believes will remain in power until his passing, is particularly concerned about the potential for “destabilization of his society.” Zelensky suggested that Western countries could play a crucial role in amplifying the pressure on Putin.
“If they push Putin, he will face destabilization in his society, and he will fear it,” the Ukrainian president stated.
Zelensky’s comments came as he was preparing for a crucial meeting with European leaders in Paris on Thursday, where discussions would focus on achieving a permanent ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. Notably, the US would not have a representative at this summit.
This development also comes on the heels of a recent announcement that both Russia and Ukraine had agreed to halt military actions in the Black Sea. However, both sides quickly accused each other of violating the terms of the temporary US-brokered ceasefire, highlighting the difficulty of reaching a lasting peace in the ongoing conflict.
