After some careful consideration, George Zimmerman told the judge he won’t be taking the stand in his second-degree murder trial for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
“Not at this time,” he said softly.
The last witness for the defense was his father, Robert Zimmerman, who testified that it was his son’s screams heard in the 911 call-an assertion contested by Trayvon’s mother, who said earlier in the week that they belonged to her son.
Closing arguments could come later this week, when an animated reenactment is expected to be shown by Zimmerman’s team, and the case could be before the jury by this weekend. Read more at The Daily Beast.
