Former president George H.W. Bush has spent the last seven days at Houston’s Methodist Hospital, where he is being treated for bronchitis and a “chronic cough,” his chief of staff, Jean Becker, said today.
There were fears that the illness might turn into pneumonia, but it did not.
“This is not a life-threatening illness,” Becker said.
Bush will likely be released this weekend.
