The shortage of fresh chickens that usually accompanies the Yomim Noraim in Eretz Yisroel will be worse this year because the Yomim Tovim coincide with the Muslim Id al-Adha holiday, the Poultry Breeders Association said yesterday.
Slaughterhouses will have fewer working days at a time when chicken consumption increases about 30%, according to Haaretz.

Probably no real shortage. Just a typical scare tactic by the chicken purveyors into getting the people to pay more.
Let the Muslims eat turkey
Well duh, of course. Same story with the wheat “shortage” every year, punkt before Pesach. Same story with the Lulav “shortage”, punkt before Succos. When will the worthless consumer say, enough is enough?
Who in the Knesset is manfully dealing with this (socialist-economy) fake shortage?
