Large Tisha B’Av Program in Brooklyn

lieffTorah Connections will again organize a Tisha B’Av Program in Brooklyn to offer Chizuk to Jews throughout the New York Metropolitan area who are seeking insights into how to transform the Three Weeks of Mourning into a celebration of Geulah.

The program to be held at the Yeshiva of Brooklyn Boys School, on the corner of Ocean Parkway and Avenue L is open to both men and women, with separate seating. It combines both tefillah and shiurim, beginning with Maariv at 9:05 P.M. on the evening of Tisha B’Av, Monday, August 4th.

Participants are requested to bring their own siddur and Sefer Eicha. Rabbi Chaim Walkin, Mashgiach of Yeshiva Ateres Yisroel in Yerushalyim will offer explanations on select Kinos. Rabbi Tzvi Mordechai Feldheim, the Menahel of Yeshiva Toras Chaim in Denver will give a shiur on the theme of Tisha B’Av at 10:55 P.M.

The Tisha B’Av Program resumes on Tuesday, August 5th, a 8 A.M. with Shachris. Rabbi Dovid Schwartz, Mora D’Asra of Congregation Sfard of Flatbush will from 9 A.M. gives explanations on selected Kinos. There will be two minyanim for Mincha at 2 P.M. and 7:30 P.M.

In the afternoon, shiurim on various aspects of Tisha B’Av will be delivered by Rabbi Noach Orlowek, Mashgiach Ruchni of Yeshiva Torah Ore in Yerushalayim; Rabbi Yosef Viener, Mora D’asra of Kehilas Shaar Hashamayim in Monsey; Rabbi Yaakov Bleich, Chief Rabbi of the Ukraine; Rabbi Moshe Tuvia Lieff; Rav of the Agudas Yisroel Bais Binyomin; Rabbi Shmuel Dishon, Menahel of Mosdos Yad Yisroel, Karlin-Stolin; Rabbi Ahron Levitansky, Rosh Mechina of Telz Yeshiva in Cleveland; Rabbi Shmuel Yaakov Klein of Torah Umesorah and Rabbi Fischel Schachter, Maggid Shiur of Yeshiva Torah Vodaath.

Admission is $12 per individual or $35 per family. The program will conclude with Maariv at 8:50 P.M. and participants can break the fast with refreshments. For more details, please call (718) 998-5822 or email [email protected]
