Obama Worth As Much As $10 Million

Wednesday May 16, 2012 4:22 AM - 9 Comments

obama2Three things are apparent from President Obama’s annual financial disclosure statement, released yesterday:

He is a wealthy man, with assets of as much as $10 million.

He has a hefty stake in JPMorgan Chase, the megabank that just made a bad $2 billion bet. Obama has an account worth between $500,000 and $1 million.

Despite the nation’s $15.6 trillion debt, he is a believer in government paper. More than half of his assets are in Treasury bills and notes.

The disclosure statement lists assets and liabilities in dollar ranges, so pinpointing the president’s net worth is difficult. His assets appear to tally between $2.6 million and $9.9 million. He holds a mortgage on his Chicago home of $500,000 to $1 million.

As was clear from Obama’s income tax filing, much of his income continues to roll in from book royalties. The disclosure form lists $100,000 to $1 million in royalties from Dreams From My Father, $100,000 to $1 million from Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters, and $50,000 to $100,000 from The Audacity of Hope.

Vice President Biden, on the other hand, isn’t all that wealthy. His financial disclosure statement includes less than $1 million in assets - and as much as $1.5 million in liabilities, including between $500,000 and $1 million on his Wilmington home.

I love the way he tries to pretend he’s just a regular guy. What a phony!

Ten million? That’s peanuts. Most CEO’s of large companies make more than that in a single year. What about the idiot who just lost JP Morgan two BILLION dollars and didn’t even get a pay cut?

And note that his income largely comes from book royalties. He’s nowhere near Mr. Romney, whose original money is inherited, along with the influence which helped him make so much more.

Let’s decide the election on the issues, not PR. Whichever one you vote for, do it on what he plans to do for the country, not what the spinmeisters give us.

a person can be very happy if he is satisfied with his lot & lives with his budget. without having the crazy needs & desires to math his neighbors cars & vacations etc…
In todays economy, anyone that can live up to his budget would be very happy. & even happier if he has a job.

May everyone thank Hashem for EVERYTHING WE HAVE & not vice versa. there are so many others that have nothing to live with-not even food-& still are happy. you too can be very happy by living up to your budget & throwing away your credit cards & crazy desires for the most craziest things…

Hey Oldtimer, thanks for clearing things up. At election time, I will not be voting for the antisemitic liar currently residing in the white house.

What he’s worth now is nothing compared to what he’ll be worth once he leaves office — whether he wins or loses reelection. He stands to make hundreds of millions of dollars as the first African-American ex-President. Just look at Bill Clinton and how much money he has made since he left office.

I checked out the article on this at the Washington Post. The numbers here aren’t really accurate, and the ranges are so wide that it really doesn’t tell you much. If you want to check it out, hop over to the Washington Post site where they give the sources for the numbers. Yes, Mr. Obama is no Bill Gates, but he’s not exactly a pauper, either. Come to think of it, most people who went to Harvard Law School aren’t hurting for money. That Harvard mystique, I guess:-)

The economy has not improved since he is in office

AS asn article on this site notes Iran has fortified their Nuclear Arsenal while he is in office.

America has lost respect as a world leader while he is in office.

He is quite aloof and extremely arrogant
