Chazal say that Shevet Shimon will never become gvirim because Klall Yisroel will lose it’s melamdim. Can you image how devastating it will be if half the schools Rabeiim or teachers leave after they win?
IN THE NAME OF CARING, WE BUY LOTTERY TICKETS FOR OUR PRECIOUS RABBYIM, HOW ABOUT A SALARY RAISE?
HOW ABOUT OPENING A FUND TO SUPPLY MUCH NEEDED MONEY TO OUR RABBAYIM
SO THEY CAN TEACH THEIR BEST.
AT LEAST GIVE EVERY REBBE THE 2 DOLLARS TO BUY A COFFEE.
#3: The cash value, after taxes, divided 477 ways come out to about $1.4 million per person. They also said that a portion is going to the cheder itself. It didn’t say if that’s an equal share or not. In any case, $1.4 million is not enough to retire on. If a Rebbe or teacher would quit their job after winning that much money, it would not be a smart move on their part.
WOW WHAT CARING FOR OUR DEVOTED RABBIEM.
#1 THIS IS NOT HISHTADLUS – GO OUT AND RAISE SOME MONEY FOR THEM, THAT’S HISHTADLUS.
LETS NOT MAKE FAKE HISHTADLUS.
#2 WHY A COPY OF THE TICKET TO THE OFFICE? WHY CAN’T YOU GIVE THE ACTUAL TICKET TO THE REBBE?
#3- Rabbi Ozeri is telling us we better do something to help our Rabbeim as theyre all leaving chinuch because their current income is not sustainable and when a school tries to do something (a little out of the ordinary I might add) youre saying they’re going to leave chinuch from their new found riches…..I guess we cannot win.
to #3: Any melamid that leaves because he got rich we are better off that he left. Any milamid that loves teaching is not going to leave his class even if he wins 2 million (they are sharing the money. did you read the letter?)
To the 477 Faculty and Staff Members of the Lakewood Cheder and Bais Faiga:
The זכות of a רבים, and especially a רבים of תלמידי חכמים ובני תורה and their משפחות, cannot be understated. As a person never knows hoe הקב“ה sends ישועות, we have decided to purchase a lottery ticket for each member of the מוסד as a group, to be shared by every Cheder and Bais Faiga faculty and staff member, with an additional share going to the Cheder itself. הרבה דרכים למקום, and this is simply השתדלות on the Cheder’s part for our devoted employees.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Yosef Posen
Executive Director
PS: I have sent a copy of the tickets and their numbers to each school office.
the only WOW belongs to the cheder that decided to raise the base salary of their rebbeim by $10,000. that is hishtadlus. by doing that, EVERYONE involved wins.
G-d be with him! And maybe the Tax Accountant too.
Great way to debut your Torah courage. A hand on the yad and another hand with a penny. Something tells me that greatness is not always the finest asset of a limited change in your own hope for Torah!
That is almost $1000 of yiddishe gelt wasted!
Good to see the smart Cheder administration on a 1-292 million chance,
Chazal say that Shevet Shimon will never become gvirim because Klall Yisroel will lose it’s melamdim. Can you image how devastating it will be if half the schools Rabeiim or teachers leave after they win?
This a touchign gesture. May they all win.!
Beautiful!
Its a great idea. I’ll dedicate to my Mosod.
Why advertise?? Yeshuos come if they are kept quiet!!
#3, why will they leave? They will stay and teach worry free.

I agree wholeheartedly with comment #1. This is very troubling.

It’s immature and sends the wrong message. How is this השתדלות? They can show appreciation in better ways. Besides, they have a stake in each ticket.

wasting 1000 is not the way.. maybe one ticket i can understand
See yesterday’s Daf Yomi; Gittin 30b, towards the top:
“Misah Shichica…Ashirus Lo Shichicha” (Death is common; wealth is not common).
I’m amazed at this show of Bitochon.

to # 4 and #5: Beautiful is right.
Wow!
if i win not a dime

This is a classic “hit & run” piece by Matzav. If you are that immature, you shouldn’t put up this “story” in the first place.
the only WOW belongs to the cheder that decided to raise the base salary of their rebbeim by $10,000. that is hishtadlus. by doing that, EVERYONE involved wins.
They should have bought one ticket as their hishtadlus and give the teachers each a share if they win.
Beautiful Rabbi Posen….Hope they win!!!!
If one of them IY”H wins though he would share with all the others of cpurse
G-d be with him! And maybe the Tax Accountant too.

But the money could buy paradise! Special.
did they win?
