Edward Snowden should consider himself lucky that the America he’s fleeing doesn’t punish leakers in the manner he suggested during an online chat in 2009.
“Those people should be shot…,” Snowden said about anonymous sources in a New York Times story about U.S. plans to sabotage Iran’s nuclear program.
The now-famous leaker, using the handle TheTrueHOOHA, went on further to assert it was unethical for the paper of record to report on issues of national security, saying, “that…is classified for a reason.” Guess he had a change of heart? Read more at Ars Technica.

Who cares what Snowden is, or why he did what he did?! He exposed the illegal and immoral Big Brother North Korea style intrusion into our daily lives – if anything the guy deserves a medal. As for the argument that now the Islamic terrorists changed their communication patterns: did the NSA with all their wealth of information ever bothered to do anything other than providing counseling services for Tsarnaev Brothers? – understand, all this info is being illegally collected for no purpose other than the US population political control. Don’t believe the above? – ask the Tea Party what the IRS did to them.
