edward-snowden2Edward Snowden would like America to stop treating him like a traitor, thank you very much.

According to a German politician who met with the NSA leaker on Friday near Moscow, Snowden is appealing for clemency and justifying his decision to reveal that the U.S. has been eavesdropping on allied countries.

In a letter delivered by the politician, Snowden says he had a “moral duty to act,” though “my government continues to treat dissent as defection, and seeks to criminalize political speech with felony charges that provide no defense… However, speaking the truth is not a crime. I am confident that with the support of the international community, the government of the United States will abandon this harmful behavior.” Read more at The New York Times.

  1. Say what he wants, he is a problem for Dignity and Respect for the Truth in America.

His conditional agreement to share information about the American discretion is not a way to absolve himself of any guilt from his “knowledge”.

I would trade Snowden for a half spent penny.

  2. Snowden is an anti-American traitor. He could have gone to the agency inspector general or to Congress where there are plenty of folks who would have been happy to look at his information. He even could have gone to his hero Ron Paul . This isn’t about criminalizing political speech, it is about protecting the ability of the US government to protect Americans and promote American interests around the world (including the security of Israel, about which his hero Ron Paul cares not at all.)

  3. As any intelligent frum Jew would know, just because it is the truth, does not mean its permissible to relate.

????? ???? ??? tells us that the truth is not a legitimate excuse.

Nothing to do with Ron Paul.
