monseyMonsey, NY…The new Evergreen Kosher Marketplace and a new Amazing Savings are amongst the major anchors that will be part of the new planned Monsey Marketplace on Route 59 in the heart of Monsey. The ultra modern super shopping center is being developed on the former site of a Pathmark Supermarket, and according to developers, the site will be the largest shopping mall in the area. “It will usher in a new generation of shopping for area shoppers,” said the developers.

The 130,000 square foot shopping center is centrally located at 59 Route 59 where some 20,000 cars pass daily. It includes a huge parking lot for 800 cars, more than double the spaces per square foot than all other area shopping centers. The center has ample access from the main thoroughfare with a traffic light and turning lanes facilitating the flow of traffic even on busy days. The center has a public bus stop on the property, is near the Park and Ride and has an onsite taxi service. Most conveniently, it is within walking distance to the major residential areas of Monsey.

For local residents that remember the old Pathmark, The Monsey Marketplace will represent a marked difference. The developers are in the process of completely gutting the center from beneath the floor to above the roof, including installing a beautiful facade, roof, parking lot. The new layout will encourage easy access and traffic flow to all stores, irrespective of the store’s location in the center. “Although we’re changing the physical aspects of the property, what won’t change is the great visibility, the abundant parking and the centrality of the site,” say the developers.

The developers are looking for stores that have the ability to take full advantage of the unusual amenities and unique features of the center. All of the planned retail establishments will be on the ground floor with easy indoor access to the huge supermarket. Limited spaces for other retailers, ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 square feet, are still available.

Monsey is one of the fastest growing communities in the country with a dynamic retail environment. It is home to many Jewish institutions and is a community of choice for young families. The concept of the new retail center is to provide shoppers with the “Main Street” of the future, offering a potpourri of shopping experiences under one roof in a pleasant, updated facility that will have stores catering to the local community with quality products and outstanding customer service.
