Monsey, NY – This Shabbos, Parshas Va’eira, Bais Medrash Govoah will hold its annual Monsey Shabbos of Chizuk. The Shabbos is being held in advance of Bais Medrash Govoah’s annual melava malka in
Monsey, which will take place for both men and women at the Atrium Hall this Motzoei Shabbos, January 12.
The event will continue the commemoration of the 50th yahrtzeit of Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l, founder of Bais Medrash Govoah, by celebrating 70 years of building Torah in America by the yeshiva. Parents, alumni and friends of the yeshiva will gather in support of the 6,500 talmidim of the Bais Medrash Govoah.
The roshei yeshiva, Rav Aryeh Malkiel Kotler, Rav Yeruchem Olshin, Rav Dovid Schustal and Rav Yisroel Neuman, will be spending Shabbos at various locations in Monsey.
Rav Kotler will stay at the home of R’ Shaul Kopelowitz. He will daven Kabbolas Shabbos at Khal Bais Avrohom, which is under the leadership of Rav Yitzchok Lichtenstein, and will attend an oneg Shabbos at the home of his host. He will daven Shacharis at Ahavas Yitzchok, which is led by Rav Bezalel Rudinsky, and daven Mussaf at Netzach Yisroel, which is led by Rav Chaim Leibish Rottenberg. Rav Kotler will attend the seudas Shabbos at the home of R’ Shmuel Dovid Levinson. Rav Kotler will attend Minchah and seudah shlishis at Khal Shaarei Tefillah, under the leadership of Rav Aharon Dovid Willner.
Rav Olshin will stay at the home of R’ Sruli Orzel. He will daven Kabbolas Shabbos at Khal Ahavas Torah, under the leadership of Rav Ephraim Wachsman, and attend an oneg Shabbos at the home of R’ Yerachmiel Simins. He will daven Shacharis at Bais Medrash Zichron Yehuda V’Chana, under the leadership of Rav Zalman Leib Hollander, and attend the seudas Shabbos at the home of R’ Lazer Tauber. Rav Olshin will attend Minchah and seudah shlishis at Kiryas Radin.
Rav Schustal will stay at the home of R’ Yossi Brachfeld. He will daven Kabbolas Shabbos at Khal Shaar Hashomayim, under the leadership of Rav Yosef Viener, and attend an oneg Shabbos at the home of his host. He will daven Shacharis at Kehillas Yeshorim, under the leadership of Rav Ari Senter, and attend the seudas Shabbos at the home of R’ Mayer Fischl. Rav Schustal will attend Minchah and seudah shlishis at Khal Ateres Rosh, led by Rav Mordechai Berg.
Rav Neuman will stay at the home of R’ Yehuda Avrohom Most. He will daven Kabbolas Shabbos at Mikdash Dovid, under the leadership of Rav Zelig Berkowitz, and will attend an oneg Shabbos at the home of his host. He will daven Shacharis at Khal Avreichim, under the leadership of Rav Chaim Feivel Schneebalg, and attend the seudas Shabbos at the home of R’ Yisroel Hartman. Rav Neuman will attend Minchah and seudah shlishis at Khal Shaarei Tefillah, under the leadership of Rav Yisroel Dovid Schlesinger.
The roshei yeshiva will speak at each of the locations they visit.
On Motzoei Shabbos, Bais Medrash Govoah’s annual melava malka in Monsey will be held at The Atrium. The event will begin with a buffet reception at 8:15 p.m. The formal program will start at 9:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rav Uren Reich, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedola of Woodlake Village. Divrei zikaron l’zecher nishmas Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l will be delivered by Rav Dovid Spiegel of Ostrov-Kalushin. The dinner chairman will be R’ Motty Shulman.
Zemiros at the event will be provided by the Mezamrim Choir, with music by the Shloime Friedman Orchestra.
