Jewish Marriage Education (founded by Rabbi and Rebbetzin Yirmiyahu Abramov, noted educators and authors of many well known books, The Secret of Jewish Femininity, The Unique Princess, Two Halves of a Whole, Straight from the Heart and Our Family Our Strength) has taken upon itself to organize the writing of a very special Sefer Torah in Rav Elyashiv zt”l’s memory. This Torah is being donated by women and girls who learn and improve in modesty and will be completed by the 28th of Tammuz- Rav Elyashiv’s second yartzeit.
Any woman or girl who takes upon herself to learn and improve in tznius can participate and then she receives a letter in this unique Torah. She then can send in her Hebrew name for a personal bracha from Rav Chaim Kanievsky, shlita!
Before the yartzeit the Sefer Torah will be taken to Bnei Brak to the homes of Rav Chaim Kanievsky and Rav Yitzchok Zilberstien, and then on the motzei Shabbos of the Rav’s yartzeit the other sons and sons in laws’ grandchildren of the Rav will be writing the final letters in “The Caravan”, the Rav’s shul where Rav Moshe Elyashiv, the Rav’s son, now gives the famous shiur.
The Torah will stay in “The caravan” until after Tisha B’av when the Hachnasas Sefer Torah will take place in a shul which very badly needs a Sefer Torah.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Make a decision to learn and improve in the mitzvah of modesty (even the slightest growth makes one eligible to participate). Then send in your Hebrew name, along with your mother’s Hebrew name, for a personal bracha from Rav Chaim Kanievsky shlita, together with a minimum donation of $10 toward the cost of the Sefer Torah to either of the addresses below:
