According to Haaretz, Assistant Secretary-General Hossam Zaki of the Arab League stated that Hezbollah is no longer categorized as a terrorist group by the organization.

Speaking on Egyptian Al-Qahera News, Zaki announced that “the member states of the League have reached a consensus to cease labeling Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.”

“In previous decisions, the Arab League designated Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, leading to the suspension of communication based on these decisions,” Zaki remarked. He clarified that the Arab League “does not maintain lists of terrorist entities and does not actively pursue such designations.”

Hezbollah was officially designated as a terrorist organization by the Arab League in 2016, aligning the 22-member league with Saudi Arabia and a bloc of six Gulf Arab nations, which had taken similar actions against Hezbollah weeks earlier.

Hezbollah condemned the Gulf states’ decision to blacklist it, describing it as “reckless and hostile” and urging the Saudi regime to “face the consequences.”

This shift occurs amid heightened tensions between Hezbollah and Israel in recent weeks.

On Sunday, a Hezbollah-launched explosive UAV detonated in the northern Golan Heights, injuring 18 soldiers, with one in serious condition and 17 sustaining minor injuries.

Throughout the day, the Israeli Air Force targeted Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, striking an observation post near Markaba and a launcher near Ayta ash Shab, from which a projectile had been fired toward northern Israel.

In addition, IDF artillery units targeted multiple locations in southern Lebanon to neutralize threats.

On Friday evening, sirens blared in northern Israel following rocket and drone launches from Lebanon.

One UAV crashed in Shlomi, sparking a small fire. Shrapnel hit a home, causing damage but no injuries.

Another projectile landed near residential buildings in Moshav Betzet, resulting in minor property damage and no injuries reported.

In response, the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on several Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including a military site in Zibqin, operational facilities in Khiam and Houla, and a military structure in Odaisseh.
