On Sunday Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu held his first interview with Israeli press since the war in Gaza began. Speaking with Channel 14, Bibi said that the stage of intense fighting in Gaza is coming to a close.

Pivoting to discussing the situation in the north, Bibi said that if a deal is not reached, Israel will return the residents to their homes through a military action.

When asked about a ceasefire to bring back the hostages held by Hamas, Bibi said that he is prepared to agree to a deal, but not if it comes at the cost of ending the war.

Bibi was asked about Jews returning to live in the Gaza strip, which is something thousands of right wing supporters have called for since the war began. However, Bibi threw cold water on the idea, stating: “It isn’t realistic and it does not line up with the war’s objectives.”
