Reb Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz is renowned for his support of Torah institutions across the world, in all segments of the Olam Hatorah.
Over the Yomim Tovim, this generosity was seen once again, as Reb Shlomo Yehuda, the famed philanthropist from Los Angeles and son-in-law of Yeshiva Torah Vodaas rosh yeshiva Hagaon Rav Yisroel Belsky zt”l, purchased kibbudim in leading Chassidic courts for the admorim of the respective kehillos.
In both the courts of Gur and Belz, Reb Shlomo Yehuda purchased the kibbudim of Atah Areisah, Chosson Torah and Chosson Bereishis. In Belz, he also bought the fifth aliyah on the night of Simchas Torah, a kibbud that is known to be particularly venerated. In all cases, the kibbudim were given to the Gerer Rebbe and Belzer Rebbe, respectively.
Reb Shlomo Yehuda went to celebrate the Yom Tov in Yerushalayim at his apartment in the former Tnuva compound, near the Gur and Belz botei medrash. In honor of the aforementioned admorim, he purchased the above-mentioned kibbudim for a quarter of a million dollars each to support to kollelim of each Chassidus.
