Haaretz reports that a group of officials from the Palestinian Authority is set to travel to Cairo shortly to engage in discussions with Egypt regarding its prospective involvement in shaping the future of the Gaza Strip.
A senior PA official mentioned that the communication channel between Egypt and the PA was initiated following Cairo’s proposition of a three-stage plan designed to bring an end to the conflict.
This plan encompasses an Egypt-sponsored “Palestinian national talk” aimed at resolving the longstanding division between Fatah and Hamas.
The report indicates that PA intelligence chief Majed Faraj has already embarked on a journey to Cairo to explore potential modifications to the terms of the Egyptian proposal.
