A tremendous crowd gathered last night for an asifa graced by gedolei Eretz Yisroel, led by Maran Harav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, in support of UTJ-Yahadus HaTorah held ahead of Tuesday’s Knesset elections. The proceedings were broadcast to numerous locations across Eretz Yisroel, as the audience heard divrei chizuk and words of guidance from Harav Aharon Leib Shteinman and the Belzer Rebbe. Rav Yosef Efrati, known confidante of the posek hador, Harav Elyashiv, read the text of the kol koreh that was recently signed by the gedolim directing people to vote for UTJ and stressing the importance of voting in general.
As the gedolim entered Tamir Hall, where the asifa was held, the crowd broke out in song, singing “Yomim Al Yemei Melech Tosif” and “Ki Orech Yomim.”
The asifa at Tamir Hall was attended by numerous other gedolim including Harav Shmuel Auerbach, rosh hayeshiva of Yeshiva Maalos HaTorah, Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel, rosh hayeshiva of Yeshivas Mir, Harav Yitzchok Sheiner, Rosh Yeshivas Kamenitz, and Harav Chaim Pinchas Scheinberg, Rosh Yeshivas Torah Ohr.
