Bill de Blasio Sworn In As 109th Mayor Of New York City


deblasioMayor Bill de Blasio was sworn in as the 109th mayor of New York City just after midnight in a small ceremony outside his Brooklyn home. De Blasio was joined by his wife and their two teenage children for the ceremony, which was officiated by New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, CBS 2 reports.

“I want to say to all of you how grateful we are. From the beginning, this has been our family together, reaching out to the people of this city to make the change that we all needed,” de Blasio said. “I want to thank you for bringing us together for this moment.”

De Blasio will be sworn in again during at a City Hall ceremony at noon by former President Bill Clinton.
