BREAKING: Stabbing at 770 in Crown Heights

crown-heights-stabbing2:45 a.m. EST: [Video below.] A stabbing at 770 Eastern Parkway, Lubavitch headquarters in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, has left one person injured.

The incident took place a short while ago, at approximately 2 a.m. EST.

The person who was stabbed is a 22 year old bochur, Levi Yitzchak Rosenblatt, from Beitar Illit, Israel.

Officers from the NYPD arrived at the scene and shot at the perpetrator, an African-American man, who had been wielding a knife. He was arrested and taken into custody. He subsequently dies from his wounds.

The surrounding area has been cordoned off by police.

There is no known motive or additional details as of yet. An officer at the scene said that it does not appear to be terror-related, though it is too early to say for certain.

The victim, Levy Yitzchok ben Raizel, is said to be in stable condition.
