The Knesset Legislative Committee approved a bill submitted by MK Michael Malkieli of Shas which would obligate building contractors to repair damage done to eiruv poles and wires in the course of their work.
“It is unacceptable that contractors who build on the outskirts of cities and neighborhoods often knowingly or unknowingly damage these poles and wires, and lay the responsibility for repairing the physical and financial harm on the Ministry of Religious Services and local rabbinate,” Malkieli said.
