Cuban President Raul Castro said on Tuesday he’s willing to name an ambassador to the U.S. once his country is removed from the blacklist of “terrorist sponsors” at the end of the month. Castro told reporters talks between Washington and Havana were “going well,” but that Cuba needed to move “at our own pace” to restore relations.

Obama ordered Cuba’s removal from the terrorism list last month, but must way 45 days, during which time Congress can propose legislation to prevent the directive. The waiting period expires May 29.

Cuban diplomats are expected in Washington as soon as this week to begin a fourth round of talks. Read more at the Washington Post.
